Tahiti Nui exclusively operates one of the youngest fleets of Airbus
A340-300 aircraft in the world. These new generation aircraft feature
the quietest cabin in the sky while offering state-of-the-art technology
and innovation.
Uniquely
suited for long-haul flights, the 294-passenger cabin is rated as
the quietest in the sky with added spaciousness and comfort in all
classes. Reliability and commonality with the Airbus family of A330
and A320 aircraft make our A340s highly efficient to operate in
terms of maintenance, parts, and crew training. The four-engine
configuration allows for maximum efficiency while surpassing twin-engine
limitations on trans-oceanic flights.
The
Air Tahiti Nui fleet is powered by the world’s most popular
engine: the CFM56, built by General Electric/Snecma Moteurs of France.
Today, this engine powers over 3,000 aircraft (one take-off every
seven seconds worldwide) and has accumulated more than 100 million
flight hours (or some 12,000 years).
